IOTA is the name of the personal Game Dev project I've been working on for a little while now. I had the idea in my first year of university, and I've been slowly chipping away at it over the years. I hope to at least have a finished demo out at some point in the relatively near future!
IOTA is about a robot who goes to space. After a multi-year journey to a faraway planet, robotic pilot IOTA and his co-pilot / immediate predecessor THETA are struck by space debris and crash land on an alien beach. Unfortunately, the crash severely corrupted the memory of the two robots, so now it's up to IOTA as captain to remember what an "Earth" is, and why they've been tasked with saving it.
The answer to this question has changed several times throughout development, but I think I've more or less nailed it down (finally). For the story bits, IOTA is a Role Playing Game / Visual Novel in the style of Ace Attorney, wherein you meet a cast of kooky alien characters and try to get them to help with your amnesia. When they inevitably refuse, or otherwise throw a wrench in your plan, you get to beat them up in combat sections, in the style of Punch-Out!!!. For those who only care about the punching, I will probably add a cheat code that skips all the story stuff (although it will make me sad to do so...).
I don't have that super nailed down right now! This page is still very much under construction, please understand.
