Waylon
A Wizard
Waylon is a wizard. His planet was lucky to contain a large amount of a mysterious mineral that contains a great amount of arcane energy. Whereas after the industrial revolution, most planets discovered the wonders of electricity, Waylon's people discovered magic. This discovery led to centuries of nearly adversity free progress, his people becoming one of the fastest progressing in the entire universe. While in his observatory, scouting nearby galaxies for signs of life, his simple vision spell malfunctioned and he was instantly physically transported to the alien hubworld he was observing. He tried to teleport back, but he found that the arcane energy imbued in his world was what allowed such powerful spells to be cast across such distances - while he could still perform magic, he was stuck, for the time being.
Now, he remains the only member of his species on the hubworld. He integrated into the wider scientific community of the planet, working with Cyber Squid for many years, but after a falling-out he retreated into the woods to an old observatory to continue his studies alone.
