THETA
The Backup
THETA is IOTA's co-pilot. The 8th revision of the "Spacefarer" class of robots, he is IOTA's immediate predecessor. Unlike his newer model, his joints squeak and grind, his field of view is slightly worse, and his hull can't withstand extreme temperatures. Because of this, he was sent purely as a backup, in case IOTA was damaged beyond repair. Fortunately for THETA, IOTA gets back on his feet after landing, so THETA is free to hang around the remains of the ship. Unlike his successor, THETA is considerably more "Human", or at least holds a far greater appreciation of and curiosity towards the "Human Cultural Backup Reserve" that was sent on board the ship with the two. THETA has become quite fond of painting, knitting, and a small personal computing device that contains a program called "Minecraft".
While on their multi-year journey through the stars, due to his far lesser dexterity, THETA was assigned the role of janitor. While some would consider this role degrading, THETA has mopped the floor of his starship every other day for 2 years with nothing but the utmost determination. Stains beware.
